Juniper Grill - Franchise

Why Juniper Grill?
Reflecting upon past experiences, frustrations and hard-won successes as multi-brand and multi-unit restaurant operators, our founders knew there was a better way to create, operate and develop a restaurant concept. They conceived an entirely different kind of upscale casual, American restaurant –– one that was more simple to run, more efficient and yet offered the highest quality product throughout an attractive and distinctive menu. Countless hours were spent, creating a unique menu focusing on fresh, local ingredients that are utilized in multiple dishes. Fresh truly became the focus. With less dependency on frozen deliveries, this also eliminated back of house space and expense – both initially in the build out and operationally in ongoing overhead costs. This offered the opportunity to expand the front of house, bar and dining space to create a variety of cozy and upscale consumer centric areas in the restaurant. What was created was a brand image with an atmosphere that our guests could visit for lunch, dinner and special events for any occasion, holiday or celebration all year long.

FAQ

Q: What kind of resources and support does a Juniper Grill franchise program offer?
A: Our franchise owners gain access to the Juniper Grill brand, our unique recipes, operating policies and procedures, uniforms, design, development, and construction of your store, vendors, and in-depth, continuing training and support. In addition, we also provide our franchisees with a website, social media and marketing programs, gift card program, and more.

Q: What are the Juniper Grill franchise fees?
A: The initial franchise fee for the right to open one Restaurant (whether a Traditional Restaurant or a Non-Traditional Restaurant) is $50,000.  There are also some additional, continuing fees: a Royalty Fee of five percent of gross sales and a Brand Fund Contribution Fee of one percent of gross sales.

Q: Is there an opportunity to develop an entire Juniper Grill territory?
A: We have a set of specific qualifications that must be met for territory development. Upon reviewing and approving your qualifications, we will grant franchises for multiple restaurants (this requires an area development agreement).

Q: What is the average size of a Juniper Grill restaurant?
A: 3,500 to 4,000 square feet

Q: What about the location?
A: Free standing structure or the end cap of an existing structure

Q: How much does a typical Juniper Grill restaurant cost?
A: Our FDD lists a range of $1,624,500 to $2,145,800

Q: Is it required that I be involved in the day-to-day operations of my Juniper Grill restaurant?
A: If you prefer to not be involved, you must designate a “Restaurant Manager” acceptable to us who will be principally responsible for communicating with us about business, operational and other ongoing matters concerning the Restaurant. The Restaurant Manager does not have to have ownership in the franchise entity.

Q: What about hours of operation?
A: We are generally open from 11 am to 11 pm, depending on location.

Q: Once my franchise is approved, what type of training will I receive?
A: We provide fifteen days of training at one of our Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area locations. In addition, 15 days of hands-on support will be conducted in the franchisee’s restaurant location, including through “soft opening” of the Restaurant. We will assess back of house, organization, menu preparation, daily operations (open to close), service standards and front of house customer experience. From time to time, we may require that you, your managers and other employees attend system-wide refresher or additional training courses. Some of these courses may be optional while others may be required.

Q: Once my franchise is approved, how long will it take for my Juniper Grill to open?
A: We estimate the typical length of time between signing a Franchise Agreement and opening a Restaurant is between twelve (12) and sixteen (16) months.
