In early 2020, the Cape Cod Gutter Monkeys, now based out of the industrial park in Mashpee, has grown to eight trucks and nearly 20 employees. For five consecutive years, their award-winning marketing program has been recognized by the Massachusetts Broadcasters Association.

Additionally, in 2017, they opened South Shore Gutter Monkeys (Plymouth to Hingham), a licensed sister company that, according to Dennis, “is growing at a slightly faster pace than the Cape Cod Gutter Monkeys”.

With recently established South Coast Gutter Monkeys up and running, the team has created the American Gutter Monkeys, a licensed franchisor, with the intent of bringing the brand to other areas of the State and beyond. “I love going to work every day,” says Andy. “I don’t miss the corporate word at all.”

Home-Based Streamlined Start-Up Process
In more than 35 years of being self-employed in the trades, founder Dennis Siggins has compiled a punch list of the industry’s unpleasantries, time wasters, and distractions.

We have effectively eliminated (or at least minimized) these. Thus, when our service teams and owners leave the shop each day, they are producing revenue-generating activity!

1. Suggested start-up costs between $150K and $240K. We suggest that each new franchisee be fully funded upon opening. Initial set-up costs include $50,000 franchise fee, service truck, box truck with extrusion machines, ladders and tools, office desk and computer, signage, work apparel, and $20,000 in working capital.

2. Can be home-based. Each of our offices began as a home-based business. Each of our currently operating offices began as a home-based operation. An extra room in your home and an adjacent garage should suffice.

3. Successful track record. Our first location hit $1 million in annual sales year 4. Our second location is on track to hit the $1 million mark in roughly that same time period.

4. Recession-proof components to the business. The average cost of a residential gutter cleaning and tune-up service is $220, which is tailor-made for our target market; over 50 years, upper-middle income, high-end homes.

During the Covid 19 pandemic, while many business and industries were devastated, each of our locations produced record years.

We help our franchisees deliver an efficient and great experience to customers with support from operations to marketing and on-going research and development.

Corporate Training, Ongoing Support, Cloud-based Systems

1. Field and site training. Our field training begins with ladder and job-site safety and includes all aspects of hands-on training in gutter cleaning, gutter system tune-up and maintenance, and gutter installation.

2. Office systems training. Office training begins during the pre-franchise process and continues through the first several months post-launch, with ongoing and continued support as needed, when needed.

3. Marketing training and on-going support. We are immensely proud of our award-winning marketing system and we are excited to work with you in the implementation of the program.

4. Continued training and support in all aspects of operations. We will work with all franchisees in all aspects of business operations as needed, when needed, as long as needed. We want nothing but success for you and your team!
