Made in the Shade has completely changed my life and given me more than I could have ever imagined. Owning a MITS franchise means being part of a group that very much feels like a family. Plus, we have Cathy who is the sweetest, kindest, most knowledgeable person that you could ever imagine. She makes every step easy and never stops helping and taking care of us. I’ve never heard of another franchise that is like this. By our second year of business, we already had sales of $425,000, almost doubling our first year. After now being in the business for 4 years, I’ve built my business so that I can make a comfortable living working 25-30 hours a week doing a job that I absolutely love. Louise Jessop, Made in the Shade Blinds of Halifax, Nova Scotia
In 2005, I was working for a school district and looking for a new career change. I was browsing through the internet one day and ran across Made in the Shade Blinds and More. After doing my research, I felt like this would be a good fit for me. I had always been a do-it-yourself person, I love meeting new people and really loved the idea of working for myself! I have to be honest and tell you I had some fears as I live in a very rural area of Kansas, but I stuck with it and to this day I can tell you it was the best decision I have ever made career-wise. You will always have the support you need from Cathy, Doug and the other MITS franchisees. I encourage anyone who is interested in Made in the Shade to take a leap of faith and go for it. You’ll be glad you did. Jim and Farah Ferguson, Made in the Shade Hartford, Kansas
Horizons Window Fashions has been a vendor partner of Made in the Shade since 2012. It was apparent from the start that our association with Cathy Morse, her team and the MITS dealer network was a perfect match for the Horizons line of products. Cathy’s ability to instill her core beliefs of service, support and integrity in every aspect of the business has paved the way for continual growth. She understands what the consumer is looking for and how to prepare the MITS dealer for success. She has proven time and time again that anyone can cover a window but Made in the Shade has the resources and talent to make the room. Made in the Shade exemplifies how we want Horizons soft treatments, natural shades and solar products represented to the consumer. Mike Sloan - National Sales Manager, Horizons Window Fashions,
My experience with the Made in the Shade Family has been amazing. You never know for sure what you are getting into; however, this is one of those great surprises. Right from the beginning, Cathy was more than accommodating to my questions, and being the inquisitive mind that I am, I had a lot. From the extensive list of top brand suppliers in blinds and draperies, to the various price ranges available that are backed by a great warranty, workmanship and support, the Made in the Shade business model makes presenting to potential clients easy and comfortable. Along with the wonderful support of Cathy and her team, as well as the other Made in the Shade franchisees, you never feel alone. Cathy and her team have made every Made in the Shade franchisee feel part of the big picture! I am allowed to run a successful business while still being able to control my own calendar. What can get better than that? I must truly say it was a wonderful decision I made 3 years ago! Heather Colberg, Made in the Shade of South Central Alberta
“Six years ago, I looked into numerous opportunities in the window treatment business. Being very weary of making a mistake, I did much homework on what I thought was the best route to take. After my due diligence was completed, I decided on Made in the Shade as the best choice. It offered me the opportunity to enter the field as a competitive dealer, with a modest investment, who can compete on equal terms with anyone in the industry. The help and understanding that I received was invaluable and continuing support is always there. I’m fortunate to have become associated with such a quality organization.” Stephen Dipasquale, Made in the Shade, Wimberley

“We are so glad that we have the opportunity to be a part of Made in the Shade. The buying power that we have is unbelievable for a “small business.” Since we work out of our home, we have no store overhead and can price our products competitively. With Made in the Shade’s business plan, we have had the opportunity to own our own business without starting from scratch. We do not have to spend time reinventing the wheel. Do you know how much time it saves not having to create marketing materials or business cards? It is great to have all of that set up already.” Matt & Kelli Houston, Made in the Shade, Austin, TX
