Talem Home Care & Placement Services

Welcome To Talem Home Care
Talem’s mission is to empower people to experience the full joy of living. This statement is more than just a slogan we put on our brochures or website-it is what defines us as a company. Talem leads and empowers people to take control of their health by guiding them through the complicated healthcare system. Our services help patients achieve their goal of staying independent and healthy, allowing them to reside at home for as long as possible.

Talem also helps fellow entrepreneurs achieve their dreams by offering them every opportunity to be successful. We recognize our franchisees and their staff, with all their hard work and dedication, are the single most important key to our success. At Talem, we strive to find better ways to support and show appreciation towards our franchisee partners. Through our industry leading large territories, innovative customer support programs, and hands on training and support, it’s no wonder Talem Home Care is the best senior care franchise to own.

Why Healthcare?
When choosing to start a business (any business) it is always a good thing to not only understand the industry as it is today, but to also look to the future. Below you will find stats and information that will prove why health care is not only the safest option, but that it is the hottest franchise to buy.

  • Low Capital Investment Needed - Starting a home care agency can cost $150,000 or less to start. Compare that to fast food franchises ($500,000 or more) or retail franchises ($300,000 or more), there are significant savings starting a home care agency.
  • Incredible Revenue Opportunities - Considering the low investment capital needed, the opportunity can be endless. With Talem Home Care’s industry leading territory size, being able to capture a larger portion of the market is easier than ever. According to the National Association of Home Care and Hospice, the average home care franchise averages between $1.5 to $2 million in revenues with an average of 13% net profit. Independently owned agency revenues tend to be 20% to 30% less than franchised agencies. By having larger than average territory sizes, our franchisees could see larger than average revenues and net profit.
• Can Still Maintain “Mom & Pop” Feeling - Many non-franchised “mom & pop” independently owned agencies feel the pressure and stress of trying to do in all on their own. Buying a Talem Home Care franchise allows owners to run, operate, and promote that “mom and pop” feeling. However, having access to other owners or franchise consultants only increases an owners’ success by having a team of people who can share best practices info, regulatory info, and potential buying power or cost sharing options when it comes to supply costs or other costs of running a business.
  • “Booming” Market" - Starting in January of 2011, the Baby Boomer population started turning 65 at a rate of 10,000 people a day. It is estimated that over the next several decades the number of people 65 years and older are expected to double. According to the US Census Bureau, as of 2010, there were 40.2 million people over the age of 65. That number is expected to grow to over 80 million people by 2050.

Other Stats

  • Someone turning 65 has a 70% chance of needing long term care and support
  • Caregivers spend an average of 20 hours a week giving care
  • Among the senior population, hospital usage is going up, yet average length of hospital stay is going down by 1% a year. Resulting in patients going home from hospital needing more help
  • Desire to stay home and “age in place” is increasing
  • Today’s seniors have fewer disabilities and are healthier than in the past. However, that leads to dealing with chronic issues more.
  • Today, seniors are living longer. In 1900, life expectancy was 47 years old. In 2007, life expectancy for men was 76 and for women was 81 and gains expected to continue
  • Seniors have been and will continue to be the heaviest users of the health care industry

Personal care worker (PCW) jobs will have the fastest growth among all occupations. Over the next 10 years, the number of PCW jobs will grow by over 70%.

What makes Talem STAND OUT – We do things a bit differently, and that’s the way we like it!
With over 45 years of combined experience, the founders of Talem Home Care strive to create a new franchise model that will lead our industry for all the years to come. We have put together a franchise program that breaks the mold. Our franchise package increases brand reputation more than any other brand by offering:

  • Largest protected territories by far - Most franchises will take a metropolitan area and divide it up into 3,4,6,8 territories. Talem strives to offer 1-2 territories per metro area. We have seen that having multiple franchise owners in a metro area has caused many frustrations and hurt the brand name and reputation. We recognize this and constantly strive to make sure our franchise owners do not experience those same frustrations.
  • Industry leading training and support program - In surveying other franchise owners of other brands, we found that next to territory size, the next area of frustration is the lack of training and support one gets. At Talem we offer 5 weeks’ minimum of extensive training. More available if needed. Either at our office or yours, we have no limit* as to how much support you can receive from use. In addition, all Franchise owners will become a Certified Senior Advisor (CSA)®.
  • Added Personal Touch - Another thing we found when during our research, many franchisees we talked to, felt like they were just another number for the larger corporation.  They were rushed through training, then were set loose with very little extra support.

Being a smaller franchise, our franchise partners are more than just a number. Not only do we have more time to make sure our franchisees are well supported, we also must make sure our franchisees are extremely successful.  Where larger companies can afford it if some of their franchisees do not perform, we need to make sure that all our franchisees are successful so that our franchise brand is successful.

  • More Experience than Most - When doing our research, we found that many of the coaches and trainers assigned to franchisees lacked experience themselves.  Many of them never worked in an actual office, let alone started one from the ground up.  Having a team with over 45 combines years of experience, it is hard to find a team with more experience than us.
  • More Revenue lines that most other brands - Most other brands focus on 1 revenue only, In-home care. Talem Home care offers 5 different revenue lines including In-home care, Senior Placement and more. To learn about all our revenue lines request for more information today.
  • Support for other payer sources than just private pay - Over the years, we at Talem have worked with other alternative payer sources that most franchise brands will not support. We not only will support our franchisees choice to work with other payer sources, we encourage it. Other payer sources include Medicaid and the Veterans Aid and Attendance Program.
  • Veterans’ Program - Our Veterans’ program is a program we are very proud of, as an owner of Talem is a Vet himself. Many people may not be aware of this, but home care may be available to Military Veterans at no cost to the Vet.  We have experts that will help clients through the paperwork and application process to see if a Vet qualifies for care, at no cost to the client. In addition, Veterans who wish to purchase a Talem Home Care Franchise will also receive a Veteran Discount.
  • National Contract and Partnership with Phillips Lifeline - Together we provide personal emergency response units as well as medication dispensing solutions.

We invite you join our company. As a part of the Talem Home Care family, you will experience warm and compassionate people who have a deep passion to “empower people to experience the full joy of living”.
