QUALIFICATION
There are no specific education degrees required to be a home inspector.  Of course, experience in a construction related field or in property management are great assets.  If you have a basic knowledge regarding structures, construction practices, and/or mechanical systems, you are one step closer to your goal.  Let's face it, the economy has been rough the past 5 years for those in the construction trades; unemployment, chronic layoffs and injuries have plagued the country, home inspectors tended to stay busy, even during the weak economy.  Are you ready to redefine your future career goals?  As a franchisee, Inspections Unlimited will walk you through our comprehensive training program to help assure you know the critical elements of the home inspection and are comfortable and knowledgeable in your new career.

TRAINING
Still need to work and pay the mortgage?  Our initial training can work around your schedule.  You will begin with online correspondence course training and then attend an Inspections Unlimited training to learn office procedures and InspectPerfect™, our signature inspection reporting software.  After your classroom training, you will begin to shadow active Inspections Unlimited franchisees to get the hands-on training needed to complete your education.  Ongoing continuing education training classes are scheduled several times during the year.

Inspections Unlimited was founded in 1989 by Dan & Shelley Lubbers with the philosophy of providing the highest quality service available in the inspection industry.  Their goal is to instill in their franchisees the concept that you, as the home inspector, are in the unique position to provide a comprehensive, unbiased evaluation of the property for the client.  They believe in providing the highest quality professional inspections available and building a network of local of real estate professionals for which to gain referrals.  Your participation in the Inspection Unlimited franchise system will afford you the opportunity to provide your clients with the same quality and professionalism.

Join us and you will become a part of a team of inspectors sharing knowledge, ideas, and business practices without jeopardizing your competitive edge.  You will network with franchisees in and outside of your designated geographic service area for advertising, support, and training.  Through networking, we maintain personal service and a small business feeling, while providing the franchisee with the knowledge and support of a group.  Inspectors in a similar geographic service area will have the unique opportunity to share in advertising and promotional opportunities, helping you get the most for your advertising dollar.  Franchises are generally sold to individuals who intend to operate their business in an owner/operator style. This enables our franchisees to develop a strong business while maintaining the individualized service the industry has come to trust and expect.  Also, you will have a close knit group of inspector colleagues to receive inspection referrals from and fellow professionals to refer inspections to, if you are out of town for business or pleasure.  You'll have colleagues you know you can trust with your preferred clients.

GETTING STARTED
The cost of getting started will vary with each franchisee.  Having a computer or laptop with a current operating system*, basic office equipment, a working vehicle, and some important inspection tools such as a selection of ladders and hand tools, will put you that much closer to opening your own Inspections Unlimited franchise.  Licensing and registration requirements will vary by State and local jurisdiction.  We can help you to research the licensing/registration requirements in your area and guide you through the red tape (if needed).

*Initial franchise Fee is $8,000 depending upon the territory requested. The estimated total start up investment, including the franchise fee, is between $14,650 and $37,300 for a standard territory.  Total start up investment includes but is not limited to signs, laptop or computer, office and inspection equipment, initial advertising, certifications, licensing and bonding.

**Currently the following states regulate the offer and sale of franchises: California, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, North Dakota, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Virginia, Washington, and Wisconsin.  If you are a resident of or want to locate a franchise in one of these states, we will not offer you a franchise unless and until we have complied with applicable pre-sale registration and disclosure requirements in your state.
