Home Instead Senior Care Leads
Entrepreneur’s Senior Care Ranking for 2005

Home Instead Senior Care, a non-medical eldercare franchise company that was founded in Omaha, Neb., 10 years ago, leads Entrepreneur magazine’s 2005 Senior Care ranking of eldercare companies. The Senior Care listing features companies that offer a wide variety of senior care services. In addition to the No. 1 Senior Care ranking, Home Instead Senior Care was ranked 87th overall in the magazine’s 26th annual franchise 500.

Home Instead Senior Care led the pack with 502 offices worldwide including two that are company-owned. In the No. 2 spot was Home Helpers, ranked 97th overall with 325 offices, followed by Comfort Keepers, ranked 116th overall with 425 offices. Another Omaha company, Right at Home, which provides senior home care and medical staffing, was ranked 352nd.

Home Instead Senior Care began with a mission to help seniors remain independent and in their own homes for as long as possible. The company has since expanded its services to assist seniors in care facilities. The company’s CAREGivers provide more than 60 different non-medical services including companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, errands and shopping.

Home Instead Senior Care expanded operations to Japan in 2000, Canada in 2001 and Western Europe in 2003.

“Our mission to always put seniors first has helped fuel our growth and is a source of pride in our corporate headquarters as well as throughout our franchise network worldwide,” said Home Instead Senior Care Founder and President Paul Hogan. “Our company started in Omaha, Neb., and about 20 entrepreneurs with Omaha ties embraced that vision and relocated to other places to establish Home Instead Senior Care franchises. And now we have offices in 47 states.”
