Curbmate Corporation has been selling equipment for this particular business for 23 years. Curbmate has helped establish over 2800 businesses throughout the United States and Canada. Many people such as yourself wonder what it is that makes this business so successful and exciting. As we've surveyed many of the business men and women we have found several advantages to this new business:
- Quick Start-up: Once you have the equipment, you can begin almost immediately.
- Low initial cost: Depending on your needs--$6,000-$14,000 in equipment gets you going.
- Low overhead.
- Cash flow: A big Plus. Cash is generated by the end of each day.
It's new: And yet it's not so new. People know they need edging. They use wood, plastic, steel, bricks, cement, or none at all. The Curbmate machine produces a beautiful unique concrete border that you can't find anywhere else.
- Diverse product market: A diversity of users from landscapers to housewives.
- Part-time or full-time.
- Customers love the product: People like the way it looks. They find it not only durable and functional but beautiful.
Probably the most exciting part of this business is it's profit potential. Most curbing in the U.S. sells for approximately $3.00 to $4.00 per foot. Consider this: material costs are .30 cents per foot or less. Labor costs can run from .30 cents per foot to .80 cents per foot. Operators can produce 300 to 800 linear feet of curbing per day. The math is simple... the curbing business is very profitable.
Curber Profiles:
Erich and Beth Leipold
Erich is a fireman. He and his wife, Beth, have jumped into the curbing business with both feet and are now curbing full time in the Sarasota market. Their approach is a very positive and upbeat approach and they have found the curbing business to be very enjoyable and profitable. They run both the 409 machine and the 509 machine, so have capability to do residential and commercial work. Erich still loves fighting fires and has found a way to do both the curbing business and put out a few fires in the meantime. Beth has figured out how to be a wife and mother and also help with the business.
Erich and Beth enjoy each other and their two children. Erich is an avid hunter and loves to race his bicycle. Obviously they also enjoy the beach!
Scott and Becky Roper
Scott does some of the best curbing in the country. His lines and attention to detail are unsurpassed. His work can be seen throughout the Southern Utah area and he absolutely loves this business. His customers will attest to that as well. He receives a lot of enjoyment from how well things look when he completes a job and how his customers react….and refer their friends and neighbors.
Scott and Becky enjoy spending time with family and 4 wheeling. Scott really enjoys working! He not only enjoys curbing, but he is constantly out in the shop welding up a new custom trailer or truck or tweeking out his Curbmate machine. However, he has yet to perfect the turbo on it!
