Hanakai Sushi Bar & Grill was created with one purpose in mind--to provide INCREDIBLE SUSHI AT INEXPENSIVE PRICES™. Our unique sushi conveyor belt moves a rainbow of sushi and Hawaiian-style dishes directly in front of hungry customers around the restaurant. We provide an experience like no other. We make "fast food" obsolete and dining out affordable. When a customer enters Hanakai, there is virtually no waiting. Once you are seated, a customer can immediately serve themselves by selecting the dishes they want directly from the conveyor belt of passing sushi – each one more “ono” (Hawaiian word for delicious) than the next!

1. How do I obtain a Hanakai Sushi Bar & Grill franchise?
The first step is to fill out the secure online questionnaire above. If you have additional questions or to check on the status of your inquiry, you can email us at franchise@hanakaisushi.com. Upon our franchise development team receiving your completed questionnaire form we will call you to answer any initial questions and then expedite our UFOC (Uniform Franchise Offering Circular) along with marketing materials to you for review. Once you have carefully reviewed the information package the next step would be for you to travel to Maui, Hawaii for a Day of Discovery. You would be able to see our concept with your own eyes as well as meet with our management team and our Founder, Jon Miyabuchi.
2. What is the initial investment?
Hanakai Sushi Bar & Grill wants you to fully understand what it takes to be a part of our family of franchise restaurants. We desire to provide the information you will need to evaluate our franchise opportunity. After years of solid growth of our corporate model we are now expanding the Hanakai Sushi Bar & Grill opportunity across the United States. The following information should serve as estimates of what it takes to launch your own Hanakai Sushi Bar & Grill:

- National Advertising Fee- 1% of Gross Sales

3. What sets Hanakai apart from other restaurants?
(1) Hanakai's deep roots in Hawaii. Due to Hawaii's multicultural environment, Hanakai is able to develop recipes and dishes that reflect that diversity. Hanakai has access to ingredients, cooking styles, and taste sensations that most people in the Continental U.S. do not. With so many diverse styles, flavorful recipes, and foods, Hanakai offers a very unique experience to our customers...a dining experience one can normally only get in Hawaii, and thus creating a distinct niche for our brand.
(2) No sushi making experience is necessary, and you do NOT need to hire an expensive sushi chef to create our menu items. Our sushi system has been simplified and streamlined so that a sushi chef is unnecessary. For more than 5 years now, Hanakai has been hiring and training high school and college students, and recent graduates, to create our sushi under our system standards. Under our proprietary system, we broke many traditional norms that are associated with sushi creation, while maintaining high quality standards in food and taste.
4. Do I need an expensive sushi chef to help me run my restaurant?
That is the beauty of the Hanakai concept. For years we have been employing high school and college students to prepare sushi and our other food items.

5. How good is Hanakai's sushi versus sushi from another small sushi bar?
Our sushi is as good or better than most as our products are far more consistent. In addition, we use the same high quality products as other high-end sushi bars. Our national purchasing power allows you to buy the same product day in day out to ensure consistency.
6. Is sushi the only item on the menu?
Our menu is quite extensive, and includes items such as hamburger dishes, chicken nuggets and other selections to suit everyone young and old, sushi connoisseur or not. Bottom line, we are a family restaurant.
