Marble Slab Creamery is proud to serve up what is truly the freshest ice cream on earth as a result of implementing the industry’s highest standards of quality. Every single batch of our super premium ice cream is homemade and free of additives and preservatives. We continuously search the world to find ingredients with the superior quality we are famous for – from the tiny country of Madagascar for vanilla beans, to Holland for cocoa, and Sweden for the world’s best dipping chocolate. Not only do we search globally, but we look locally as well. Each franchisee gets their ice cream mix from the very best local dairy, providing a premium mix that is always fresh, never processed or preserved.
Everything we make here is fresh! In addition to our super-premium homemade ice cream, we hand-roll and freshly bake from scratch our signature waffle cones and brownies. We also offer delightful non fat frozen yogurt, smoothies, shakes and malts, sundaes, banana splits, ice cream cakes and pies. As for the mixins, we offer only the freshest fruits, the finest nuts, the sweetest candies and the yummiest cookies around to satisfy the most sophisticated palettes and the craziest of cravings!
Ice Cream Mavericks 
Marble Slab Creamery has built its reputation by specializing in super-premium ice cream with the finest ingredients since 1983. Originally, the franchise was invented by chefs Penn and LaPage, who changed the way we enjoy frozen desert with the ability to create your won concoction. Their “Frozen Slab” was the first, the original, and they soon began franchising this concept. When one of the first franchisees, Ronnie Hankamer from Texas acquired the business in 1986, he built a franchising concept which provided a comprehensive, turn-key business venture.
In February 2007, NexCen Brands, Inc. acquired Marble Slab Creamery with over 300 open stores. NexCen is one of the world’s leading brand management companies. We support our franchise brands with our new NexCen University training program. NexCen U offers state of the art technology and training that is structured to make learning exciting and fun. NexCen U courses are drawn from the knowledge of our best-of-class management team with in-depth understanding of franchise systems.
Financial Information
What is the franchise fee?
A $32,000 fee accompanies the first store agreement. Once in our system, the fee for additional stores is discounted to motivate growth depending upon your individual growth plan.
Are there monthly fees as well?
Yes, as with any franchise business, monthly royalty payments are assessed. The monthly royalties are as follows:
Single and multiple stores:
Six percent (6%) of gross sales are paid monthly and two percent (2%) of
gross sales is contributed to a National Marketing Fund. This fund provides public relations support, in-store point of purchase materials, product development, web site development, local store marketing tools, etc.
What are the financial requirements?
It costs between $225,000 and $375,000 depending upon size and location
to open and operate a store. We look for individuals with a net worth of
over $200,000 and liquidity of at least $60,000.
Do I need previous food experience to get a Marble Slab Creamery franchise?
Experience is helpful, but it’s not necessary. We have a complete training program at our new state of the art NexCen University.
